Numerous parishes in Louisiana have lost power and issued boil water notices after Hurricane Ida left “catastrophic damage” in the state.
911 services were also down as of Monday, August 30, and people who are in crisis are being asked to visit their nearest fire station or police station to seek help.
I reported yesterday that Jefferson Parish had issued a boil water advisory as a result of the effects of Hurricane Ida. Many more parishes in Louisiana have now followed suit.
The full list of Louisiana parishes with boil water advisories in effect, as of Wednesday, September 01, is as follows:
- The City of Covington and St. Tammany Parish residents who use Magnolia Water and Tammany Utilities.
- The entire East Bank of Jefferson Parish.
- Areas east and south of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in Terrebonne Parish.
- All customers in St. James Parish.
