A boil water advisory has been issued to the West Side of Shinnston after a main water break in the area.

The advisory was issued yesterday afternoon (Monday, September 14) and was shared on the City’s Facebook page.

There are no reports to say that contamination has been detected, but water must be tested as a precautionary measure to ensure that bacteria has not entered the system.

Bacteriological testing typically takes around 48 hours to produce results. City officials say that customers in the affected area will be notified when the advisory has been lifted.
