A boil water advisory has been issued to residents in the town of Duson, Louisiana, after the Town’s water tower lost communication with the water plant and system pressure dropped below 20 PSI.

The advisory was issued yesterday (Sunday, October 10), and was shared by the Duson Police Department on Facebook.

All residents who get their water from the Town of Duson’s public supply will need to boil their water until further notice.

No contamination has been detected; however, a loss in water pressure can make it easier for bacteria to get into the system.

The advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure and will be lifted when tests confirm that no contamination has occurred.

According to the Town of Duson Police Department, Town officials will notify residents when the notice is rescinded.
