The City of Lacy Lakeview has issued a boil water notice to some of its residents due to a main water break.
The notice came into effect yesterday (Tuesday, July 27) and applies to public water customers living between East Craven south and Meyers Lane, and from Crescent Street west to New Dallas Highway.
Residents have been advised not to use the water for washing, brushing their teeth, or drinking. They should either boil their water or purchase bottled water for consumption.
The City of Lacy Lakeview will flush the affected areas and take water samples to test for bacteria. Bacteria test results take a minimum of 24 hours to be processed.
The City has asked that residents share word of the notice with those who may not have received the notice directly, including those living in apartments, schools, and nursing homes.
Once it is determined that the public water supply is free of pollutants, the boil water notice will be revoked, and residents will be able to resume normal water use.
To stay safe when a boil water notice is issued, follow the instructions in this guide.
