🔧 Installation & Maintenance
The Luxsego Ionic Shower Head is one of the easiest shower filters to install, because like with a standard shower, you get the whole set – the hose, the wall mount, and the head itself. You don’t need to add in the beads or the anti scale plate at this point, as they’re already pre-installed in the system.
When the anti-scale plate and ion beads need changing, you will need to put in slightly more effort than replacing a standard filter cartridge. For the anti-scale plate, unscrew the front of the showerhead and remove the plate, then put the new plate in its place and screw the front back on.
For the ion beads, you will need to unscrew the bottom half of the shower, which contains the beads. Remove the washer inside, then empty the balls out. You can do the same on the other side of the showerhead, which also contains beads. Then refill the beads, replace the washer on each side, and screw the shower in place. It’s a good idea to have a refill pack of beads to hand, as you’ll need to replace them every 6 months or so.

The Luxsego Ionic Showerhead doesn’t have a traditional filter cartridge – instead it has negative ion mineral stones, which essentially do the same job as a filter cartridge in reducing chlorine in water. There is also an anti-scale plate, which removes limescale-causing minerals from water, helping to prevent hard water issues like dry skin conditions and dull, lifeless hair.
If you’d prefer to buy a showerhead water filter with an ANSI/NSF certification, you should know that the Luxego filter doesn’t yet have a certification for chlorine removal.
